Individual Psychotherapy
You want to feel…
Comfortable with your emotions
Clear about your needs
Not so controlled by others’ moods and expectations
Self-trusting
Capable of setting boundaries
Less guilty
Free to express your authentic self
More ease and joy in your daily life
But mostly you feel…
Uncomfortable with your feelings
Unsure of what you truly want
Bogged down by supporting everyone else
Guilty for having needs
Too busy to slow down
Afraid of being “too much”
Held back from expressing your true self
Overwhelmed or shut down much of the time
How I Can Help
My first priority will be to build a relationship with you in which you feel safe, understood, affirmed, and valued. Healing is possible when your emotions and all parts of yourself are welcomed and accepted by someone who gets you, who is reliable, and who genuinely cares for you.
Within this relationship, we can work together on:
becoming more aware and trusting of your feelings
regulating your nervous system and emotions
treating yourself with real compassion
understanding how past experiences have impacted you
clarifying your needs, wants, and values
taking actions that align with your authentic self
developing self-care practices that nurture your well-being
being more genuine in your relationships
staying in the present moment
accessing more joy, freedom, authenticity, and ease in day-to-day life
The Process
Free 20-minute consultation: This is a time for me to learn about your situation and your reasons for seeking therapy, for you to ask me questions, for me to explain how I work, and for us to decide together if we might be a good fit. Reach out to set something up!
Initial Evaluation: The initial evaluation is a time for me to get a more thorough understanding of who you are, your current situation, and your mental health history. It’s also a time for you to get a feel for what it would be like to work with me. Before we meet, I’ll ask you to complete some confidential forms related to your current concerns, symptoms, and history, as well as my policies and your rights as a client. At the end of the initial evaluation, we will discuss what treatment together could look like and decide if we want to continue together. If I don’t think I’d be a good fit for your needs, I will do my best to provide you with referrals.
Individual Psychotherapy. Therapy sessions are about 50 minutes long and held via a secure video platform. I typically meet with clients once a week, although sometimes it makes sense to meet more or less frequently (such as twice a week or every 2 weeks). Treatment length varies and depends on factors like your needs, your preferences, and my clinical recommendations. I am able to provide both longer- and shorter-term therapy.
